The Hurricane’s concept was born more than 20 years ago by Pauline & Tony Teixeira. Their dream was to create a new casual dining experience for meat and seafood lovers, with friendly service and an atmosphere that was second to none.
The menu has always been heavily influenced by Tony’s traditional Portuguese heritage. Hurricane’s unique grilling style is still used today but also includes some South African and Modern Australian influences and a reliance on premium quality Australian produce. To serve premium quality steaks Pauline & Tony’s vision was to create a well-rounded menu that would feature simple but delicious combinations that customers would love and return for, time after time.
Tony is now the CEO of Hurricane’s Management Pty Ltd and continues to fulfil the legacy he and Pauline dreamt of creating all those years ago.
Growing up in a small village in Portugal, Tony worked on his family property. He lived off the land raising livestock for meat and enjoying an abundance of fruit trees, grapevines and fresh vegetables.
From a very early age, the importance of always using fresh, quality produce when cooking was instilled in him. It was this simple philosophy that led him to pursue a career as a chef and restauranteur.
Tony moved to Australia in 1987, and met the love of his life, Pauline, in 1993. From day one they were an inseparable partnership. Together they lived what can only be described as an amazing journey of life with their two children, Brooklyn & Sienna.
